Cairns Eye and Laser Centre offers a complete comprehensive ophthalmology service. We accept routine, urgent and at short notice appointments.

The ophthalmologists attending the Centre treat surgical and medical eye problems.

Major eye surgery, including Cataract surgery, Glaucoma and Pterygium surgery, Oculoplastic, eyelid reconstructive and lacrimal surgery are performed at the Cairns Private Day Surgery and the Cairns Hospital Day Surgery Unit. Minor eye procedures including intraocular injections, surgery on the external surface of the eye and lids and laser eye treatments are carried out within Cairns Eye and Laser Centre’s minor operating theatres.

When making an appointment with us you will require a current referral from your optometrist or doctor in order to reclaim money back from Medicare.

We accept payment by cash, EFTPOS, cheque, most major credit cards (except AMEX and Diners club), and bank transfers.

The Cairns Eye and Laser Centre offers patients subsidised cataract surgery for pensioners and non-pensioners who do not have private health insurance without having to go on a public waiting resulting in significant savings for these patients.
